What's This?

Witness = person who gives testimony; to present evidence for or against a person or thing

Deuteronomy 19:15 (NIV)15 One witness is not enough to convict anyone accused of any crime or offense they may have committed. A matter must be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.

Proverb 12:17 (NIV)

17 An honest witness tells the truth,

but a false witness tells lies.

John 1:5-15 (NIV)

The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not understood it.

There was a man sent from God whose name was John. He came as a witness to testify concerning that light, so that through him all might believe. He himself was not the light; he came only as a witness to the light.

The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world. 10 He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. 11 He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. 12 Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God— 13 children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.

14 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

15 (John testified concerning him. He cried out, saying, “This is the one I spoke about when I said, ‘He who comes after me has surpassed me because he was before me.’”)

Acts 1:5-8 (NIV)

For John baptized with water, but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.”

Then they gathered around him and asked him, “Lord, are you at this time going to restore the kingdom to Israel?”

He said to them: “It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

O Lord, may I be a witness for You:

Honest, not false

Speaking like John, a witness to the Light of the Lord

Sharing The Word, Your Word, became flesh and dwells among us in Your Son, Jesus

It is not for me to know Your dates or times, O Father

Lord, empower me thru Your Holy Spirit

To witness to the ends of the earth

In Jesus name.  Amen
