Are You Seeking a Soft Spot in a Hard Place?

Are you seeking a soft spot in a hard place in your life? That hard spot may take so many forms, yet what I found in the Dzaleka Refugee Camp is this – not a single soft spot in a very hard, very dry place.

But God…waters our dry spots and equips the called to help soften a hard spot for another.

I’ll be birthing “A Soft Spot in a Hard Place” to get pillows – a soft spot – into UN Refugee Camps – hard spots – around the world. I have no idea what this ministry will look like to start with or grow into, so I ask you for your precious prayers that I hear the Lord as He faithfully leads each step on this path.

Renew your mind daily as the Lord lifts your head. His mercy is new every morning. Truth we can find to stand on or sit still in as God holds us close, whispering His truth into our lives.

[Tweet “God’s mercy, sweet friend, is a soft spot in the midst of our hard days.”]

Is that true for you too?

  1. “But God…waters our dry spots and equips the called to help soften a hard spot for another.” This is so good, Susan. Too often we want to sit back and rejoice in our own comfort instead of seeking to soften the hard spots that others may be experiencing.

  2. Susan, I loved your video. You have a great voice for telling stories. I can’t fathom being so afraid to lay my head down at night or to see your parents murdered. What a blessing you were to the people you touched and visited with. Praying for you!

Thank you for sharing with Grace & Truth Christian Link-Up.

  3. What a wonderful analogy of the soft pillows, and what a blessing for God to give you that to help where He has placed you. Stopping by from Grace & Truth Link Up.

  4. Susan, I love hearing your voice and seeing you! Love the video – Thanks for sharing about your refugee camp experience. I love your tweet -God’s mercy is the soft spot in our hard days.

  5. What a wonderful idea – pillows for a refugee camp. You must have had to be there to witness the lack of softness first-hand to come up with such a brilliant idea. I would never have thought of that! Praying for you and your cause!
