What's This?

My County tis of thee...

My country, ’tis of Thee,
Sweet land of liberty,
Of Thee I sing;
Land where my fathers died,
Land of the pilgrims’ pride,
From ev’ry mountainside
Let freedom ring!
2
My native country, Thee,
Land of the noble free,
Thy name I love;
I love thy rocks and rills,
Thy woods and templed hills;
My heart with rapture thrills,
Like that above.
3
Let music swell the breeze,
And ring from all the trees
Sweet freedom’s song;
Let mortal tongues awake;
Let all that breathe partake;
Let rocks their silence break,
The sound prolong.
4
Our fathers’ God to Thee,
Author of liberty,
To Thee we sing.
Long may our land be bright,
With freedom’s holy light,
Protect us by Thy might,
Great God our King.

When was the last time you heard America sung?  I heard it on Memorial Day and it got my attention and made me pause…

I googled the words to the song and Wikipedia actually brought up 13 verses.  I had no idea!  Should you now be curious, click here to see the additional verses.

And now the Lady Liberty still stands proud, yet the Twin Towers are no more…

The Pentagon is secure today yet it was plowed into as another jet plunged to the ground in Pennsylvania that fated day…

The Boston Marathon is still run annually, yet it recently resembled a Massacre instead of a Marathon…

And hackers have hacked into PurposefulFaith.com.  And attempted to compromise that which God intends for good.

You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives. ~ Genesis 50:20 (NIV)

My original blog was named Agog4God.com.  (the word agog means in awe of so Agog4God = AWE 4 God, A Gathering Of Girlfriends 4 God, and A Good Ole Girl 4 God.  I know.  I had my boxing gloves on with God for 6 months arguing over the name.  It’s WEIRD, GOD!  And He asked, “Are you in AWE of Me?  Or not?”).

In the last month, I have seen multiple attempts by someone other than myself attempting to sign in.  So far, they have been blocked.  I pray security keeps it secure and that Kelly successfully gets the security restored at PurposefulFaith.com.

Was a recent post about spiritual warfare?  Rulers, Authorities, Powers, spiritual forces of Evil.  Yes, evil is real and we must be vigilant in protecting that which God has assigned to us. So put on the full armor of God, sweet readers.  Protect yourself and your family.

Hackers are haters and they hate what we as Christians and Christian bloggers are doing ~ proclaiming the name of GOD Almighty.

So PRAY.  Pray a hedge of protection and put on the full armor of God to surround and protect yourself, your family, the bloggers, writers and lovers of His Word who are bringing the Word of God to you, through blogs, life lessons, devotions and prayer.  Books, conferences, seminars and lessons.  There are so many places in this wonderful country and world we need to surround with the Word of God so we can CONTINUE to pray and praise Him, freely.

The last stanza of America BOLDLY proclaims God as the author of our liberty and protector of our country.  It bears repeating here…

Our fathers’ God to Thee,
Author of liberty,
To Thee we sing.
Long may our land be bright,
With freedom’s holy light,
Protect us by Thy might,
Great God our King.

Would you proudly join your voice with mine and SING?

In Jesus’ name.  Amen

  1. Thank you for the reminder to be cautious in our daily walk and also in the blogging world. I think as Christians and lovers of God, we want to give freely to see others brought to a deeper relationship with Christ, but in the meantime, we forget to protect what we have built. And Christ teaches us to be wise as serpents. The enemy is out there. We must be vigilant.

  2. Wow! 13 verses! I remember when we used to belt out 2 or 3 in school way back in the day.

    Let freedom ring …

    Thanks for this reminder, Susan. What a way to kick off the week, huh?
