In His Arms

Have you ever felt totally overwhelmed, weighed down by the challenges you face? Strong, confident and capable people – even they – have moments when the burdens of life simply overwhelm them. It’s then that the Lord God Almighty whispers…

Come to Me…

28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28 (NIV)

Rest. Thank You, O Mighty God, for calling us to You, for scooping us up in Your mighty arms to comfort us and to give us rest. Knowing God is there for me, regardless of the situation(s) I face, I’m finding calm in the chaos – in His arms.

My perspective changes when I sit, cradled in His mighty arms, looking out from the same view God has. He shows me His perspective and His indescribable peace prevails. How magnificent is our God who loves us?

God gave me a strong man to love and cherish.  When I am feeling overwhelmed, I can step into his strong arms and feel secure.

When we lost Kyle, I told Holt, “I can’t lose you too.”  And I meant it.

Reality for me – it took losing Kyle to realize the gift God had given me in my husband. And I cherish him…now. I need his strong arms to wrap around me when I feel overwhelmed.  I want him to pull me into his strong embrace as it helps me find a calmness in the chaotic whirlwind of life.

Is that what God wants to do for you – and me?

7 The eternal God is your refuge,
and underneath are the everlasting arms.
He will drive out your enemies before you,
saying, ‘Destroy them!’

Refuge. Praise Your Holy name, God. You are my eternal refuge as I run to Your everlasting arms. I thank You that it’s Your job to drive out my enemies! I’m finding calm in the chaos of life in His arms.

12 with a mighty hand and outstretched arm;
His love endures forever. Psalm 136:12 (NIV)

His love endures – forever! Holy God, I praise Your mighty name for Your mighty hand and outstretched arm reach me – and pull me into Your redeeming love. Forever. I’m calm in His arms.

Even to your old age and gray hairs
I am he, I am he who will sustain you.
I have made you and I will carry you;
I will sustain you and I will rescue you.
Isaiah 46:4 (NIV)

Even when I hide that gray hair of mine, I cannot hide from God. He will carry me, sustain me and rescue me! Even better news – He will do the same for you too. I’m calm in His arms. You too?

10 So do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
Isaiah 41:10 (NIV)

I will not fear, for God is with me.
I am not dismayed, for I know my God.
He tells me, “I am your God.”
Strengthening me
Helping me
Upholding me
With His righteous right hand.

I’m finding calm in the chaos in His arms.
