I’ve had enough. Enough of this already. You are enough…
“Enough!” Samuel said to Saul. “Let me tell you what the Lord said to me last night.” “Tell me,” Saul replied. 1 Samuel 15:16
Which way is my mind going to go with this word, enough? Why not guide it where I want it to go? So off to BibleGateway.com to search the word enough…So I have God’s usage of this word enough for our discussion.
Look, here is a town near enough to run to, and it is small. Let me flee to it—it is very small, isn’t it? Then my life will be spared.” Genesis 19:20
Very small. Have you shrunk back from His largeness and fled to a very small place where your life will be spared? Is that enough-for you, me or for God?
Or should you and I continue to seek His Word until He has fed us enough?
Then the Lord said to Moses, “I will rain down bread from heaven for you. The people are to go out each day and gather enough for that day. In this way I will test them and see whether they will follow my instructions. Exodus 16:4
Enough for that day. Yes Father God, let us gather enough for each day. Test us to see if we will follow your instructions. Your instructions??? You mean we are supposed to get daily instructions…just enough for that day?
[Tweet “Holy Father God, guide us to You each day, that we may read Your Word and know that it is enough for us that day. “]To guide us, to teach us, to inspire us, to nourish us, so that we live the life You created for us to live…not by might or power, but by the Word of the Lord. And it is enough for that day. That Your Word increases us enough to take possession of “the land” You have for us, Lord.
[Tweet “because what they already had was more than enough to do all the work. Exodus 36:7”]Little by little I will drive them out before you, until you have increased enough to take possession of the land. Exodus 23:30
What they had was already MORE than enough to do all the work? Father, Your Word is a compass. Thank You for being MORE than enough…Let us be reminded daily that we have enough to do Your will and Your work.
[Tweet “Are God’s consolations not enough for you, words spoken gently to you? Job 15:11”]Thank You for speaking gently to us Lord. Your Words have comforted me mightily as I have walked through the valley of the shadow of death. I think that is simply part of life for each one of us, yet experienced in different ways. And You are there with us. And that is enough for me. I pray it is enough for each one of us.
Whoever loves money never has enough; whoever loves wealth is never satisfied with their income. This too is meaningless. Ecclesiastes 5:10
Meaningless? Money and wealth or the LOVE of money and wealth? OH! I see ~ it’s the LOVE of money and wealth. God wants to bless us as He did Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, King David, Solomon and so many more.
Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it. Malachi 3:10
Such blessing that there will not be room enough to store it?! Thank You, Father, for You desire to bless us.
Yes, You desire to bless each one of us, yet You say, “Test me.”
Father, my heart’s desire is for You to release Your blessings and favor upon me and my household and the households of the one reading with me today. That You test and approve us. For I am not qualified to test You or to know how You think, Lord.
I pray You bind my will and my friend’s will to Yours, Lord. And bless us.
Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. Matthew 6:34
AMEN!
[Tweet “Enough. I agree. That will be enough for us. Yes, Lord, show us the Father. “]Philip said, “Lord, show us the Father and that will be enough for us.” John 14:8
In Jesus name. Amen

Susan, Thank you for these scriptures and for the reminder to go to God each day for my provision. He is enough! And because of Him, I have everything I need to do the task that has been set before me. Love, Shelly
Amen Shelly!
God is enough! He is everything in my life. Thanks for this encouraging post today Susan!
I’m visiting you from #livefreeThursday.

You gave me the word persevere! Now I gotta write a post for your blog Tayrina.
Thanks Susan for being a guest in my blog! Let’s see your post live next week. Blessings
This is beautiful, Susan. Thank you for sharing those verses, showing that He truly is enough. And the image – breathtaking!
Thank you also for your Twitter encouragement yesterday. You really did help me to recognize my faulty thinking, so I could take those thoughts captive and give them to Jesus.
Have a blessed day,
Kamea
Beautiful! Capture. Fill with His truth. Renew.
Repeat OFTEN!
Isn’t that the truth?
Susan, this post is beautiful for so many reasons… this breakdown of scriptures proving that He’s more than enough. All abundance begins and ends with Him! Fill ourselves up with anything else and we’re still lacking, aren’t we? Thank you for this wonderful reminder 🙂 xxoo
Christine, thank you for encouraging me with this post. It felt so different when I wrote it, I wasn’t sure how it would be received. I just knew that was what God laid on my heart to share…I’m learning to follow His lead!
Funny that as old as I am (happy to tell you how old…) – that I can never get enough of Jesus – AND yet how often I forget to get my total filling of Him, in Him. Thanks for this great reminder. By you at Holley’s this morning in California.(:
Hello Sue. So very true. He is enough. And when I’ve had enough of the world, I remember… To come back to Him to get my fill. So glad you “stopped by” today.
May I invite you to join the #DanceWithJesus linkup here each Friday!
i’d love to – hope I remember! at a daughter’s college grad this week so perhaps the following Friday! thanks.
If I see the Father in the midst of my circumstances or in my every day life, that is enough. I love this, Susan. <3
