What's This?

Confidence = being sure of something: without doubt

2 Chronicles 32:7-8 (NIV) “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or discouraged because of the king of Assyria and the vast army with him, for there is a greater power with us than with him. With him is only the arm of flesh, but with us is the Lord our God to help us and to fight our battles.” And the people gained confidence from what Hezekiah the king of Judah said.

Job 4:6 (NIV) Should not your piety be your confidence and your blameless ways your hope?

Psalm 71:5 (NIV) For you have been my hope, Sovereign Lord, my confidence since my youth.

Proverbs 31:10-12 (NIV) Epilogue: The Wife of Noble Character

10 A wife of noble character who can find?

She is worth far more than rubies.

11 Her husband has full confidence in her

and lacks nothing of value.

12 She brings him good, not harm,

all the days of her life.

Isaiah 32:16-17 (NIV)

16 The Lord’s justice will dwell in the desert,

his righteousness live in the fertile field.

17 The fruit of that righteousness will be peace;

its effect will be quietness and confidence forever.

Jeremiah 17:7 (NIV) “But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him.

2 Corinthians 3:3-5 (NIV)

You show that you are a letter from Christ, the result of our ministry, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts.

Such confidence we have through Christ before God. Not that we are competent in ourselves to claim anything for ourselves, but our competence comes from God.

2 Corinthians 7:16 (NIV) I am glad I can have complete confidence in you.

2 Corinthians 8:21-22 (NIV)  21 For we are taking pains to do what is right, not only in the eyes of the Lord but also in the eyes of man.

22 In addition, we are sending with them our brother who has often proved to us in many ways that he is zealous, and now even more so because of his great confidence in you.

Ephesians 3:12 (NIV) In him and through faith in him we may approach God with freedom and confidence.

Hebrews 3:6 (NIV) But Christ is faithful as the Son over God’s house. And we are his house, if indeed we hold firmly to our confidence and the hope in which we glory.

Hebrews 4:16 (NIV) Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

Hebrews 10:35 (NIV) So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded

Hebrews 11:1 (NIV) Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.

Hebrews 13:6 (NIV) So we say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?”

Hebrews 13:17 (NIV) Have confidence in your leaders and submit to their authority, because they keep watch over you as those who must give an account. Do this so that their work will be a joy, not a burden, for that would be of no benefit to you.

1 John 3:21 (NIV) Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God

1 John 4:17 (NIV) This is how love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment: In this world we are like Jesus.

1 John 5:14 (NIV) This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.

Thank You, Father God.  Confidence, Your Word says:

In Jesus name.  Amen
