Promise…
According to Merriam-Webster:
: a statement telling someone that you will definitely do something or that something will definitely happen in the future
: an indication of future success or improvement
: a reason to expect that something will happen in the future
The promise of spring…
[Tweet “Our hearts leap with joy at the sight of this pastel pallet God paints for us.”]Green peeks through snow, ice and mud. Then yellow, pink and purple BURST upon the scene as forsythia, irises, crocus, daffodils and pansies parade throughout our gardens and public grounds.
The promise of pregnancy…
[Tweet “As gentle fingers caress tiny fingers and count tiny toes, love simply grows…”]A baby (or TWO!) bursts onto the scene, literally. Making themselves known and being known by the parents who love with a deep, rich, almost unfathomable love that permeates the atmosphere. Oh the joy and love that leaps to life at the first glimpse of this new babe (or babes!).
The promise of God…
2 Peter 1:4 ~ Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.
Divine nature…
just like spring bursting upon the scene, allowing us to escape the harshness of winter, God allows us to escape the corruption of the world by His promises.
2 Peter 3:9 ~ The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.
Patient…
He persists as long as we resist…so none perish.
Repent! Thank You Father that You are patient and persistent.
Hebrews 10:36 ~ You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.
Persevere…
How long did it take Noah to build the Ark? 100 to 120 years? Yet, my microwave seems too slow some days as I zap water for tea…
Will I persevere in the will of God to receive His promises?
Oh Lord, guide me into Your promises & Your promised land.
2 Peter 3:13 ~ But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, where righteousness dwells.
NEW Heaven and Earth…
Righteousness. Holy Father God, I can only imagine where righteousness dwells.
1 John 2:25 ~ And this is what he promised us—eternal life.
[Tweet “Promise you this. It will be worth persevering in His will to receive His Holy promises!”]Eternal life!
Rejoice! His promise is divine.
We are never alone, in the dark or the light.

His promises are breathtaking and never changing. Even knowing this, my impatience so often gets the best of me. I can completely relate to you feeling your microwave is too slow at times, let alone trying to persevere as Noah did. Thank you for this beautiful and much needed reminder to rejoice in His promises and constant companionship through it all.
Thank you for reminding me about His beautiful promises, and what something promised even means “that something will definitely happen”! What He promises, He WILL DO! Glorious! I love the verses, especially 2 Peter 1:4.
Blessings and hugs,
Kamea
Yes, so true Susan! Oh how we can’t wait to receive, but just like Hannah who endured years of barrenness before Samuel was born, we must learn to live each day growing with Him and trusting His promises! Thanks for the reminder, friend:)
Amen! Endure is an excellent word for what we are to do, Kristine
