Brokenness

Emotionally & spiritually I was in a broken place. There was a spot in my life where I had experienced loss, great loss. And I realized that things get broken, discarded and replaced, yet people matter. I had to create a time in my life for people. So I had to go on a healing journey, and part of what I did was look deeper to God, walk closer to him, so I could help others beat loss, dark, broken spots and grief. That is where I was coming from.

Have you ever felt you were walking on glass?  That no matter where you stepped, it would hurt? Shattered.  Everything around you was simply shattered?

Me too.

Know this.  God made “supernatural” glue…For me and for you.  You didn’t know? His Word says He binds up our wounds, so what does He use? Do you think it may be the blood of Jesus?  It’s POWERFUL!

[Tweet “Psalm 147:3 He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.”]

Let His words wash over you today.

Psalm 34:18 The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.

Isaiah 61:1-3 (NIV) The Year of the Lord’s Favor
61 The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me,
because the Lord has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim freedom for the captives
and release from darkness for the prisoners,
to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor
and the day of vengeance of our God,
to comfort all who mourn,
3     and provide for those who grieve in Zion—
to bestow on them a crown of beauty
instead of ashes,
the oil of joy
instead of mourning,
and a garment of praise
instead of a spirit of despair.
They will be called oaks of righteousness,
planting of the Lord
for the display of his splendor.

Thank You, Father, for caring enough to walk us through the brokenness, the shattered emotions, the mess of our day to day and into Your Holy presence, so you can redeem us, restore us and repurpose us for YOUR good works.

We become even more beautiful when we move from brokenness to blessed~when we are “superglued” back together by You, Father.

[Tweet “And when we share the message of our mess, it becomes His message. And our HOPE.”]

Revelation 12:11
They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death.

Father, hear our prayers and our praise.  THANK YOU for caring enough to send Your Son to save us.

So all that shattered glass?  Do not shrink back. Sweep it up, dump it out and walk on. STRONG in the Lord.

  5. Our brokenness has the ability to draw us right into His loving arms. He assures that He provides comfort for those who mourn. He wraps us in His warm, cozy, familiar comforter, the thick plush one that keeps us warm on the coldest winter day and He rocks us back and forth. May you find rest, comfort joy and peace is His strong steady arms.
