This year has gone fast considering everything that has gone on, but autumn will soon be here, and often this is the season that everyone secretly loves. Of course, Summer is a wonderful time of the year. We get to enjoy the sunshine – almost all of the time here – and bask in the warmth. We enjoy wearing loose fitted clothing as well as drinking and eating al fresco. However, while we often aren’t blessed with the best weather during the summer, autumn is always a mixed bag. Yet there is so much we can look forward to when we enter into autumn. With that in mind, here are some of the things to think about with the season change.

Pumpkin displays
Pumpkins are associated with autumn so you may start to see an influx of them in the shops now we are officially in the season. So pumpkin displays may be an activity to get involved in. If you have children, it’s a great family activity, but it can also be done as a decorative feature by yourself. You don’t have to be mega creative, but there are some out of this world displays that have been done. I love the Dallas Arboretum this time of year. Check the one closest to you for their autumn display.
Would you like to use the pumpkin flesh? Then make an amazing pumpkin soup and roast the seeds to make a fantastic and healthy snack. This year, autumn festivities are likely to look very different so it might be worth embracing some of these activities to get into the spirit.
Autumn candles
Autumn is the ideal time to get cozy in an evening and watch a boxset by the light of your favorite scent. There are some amazing scents that are autumn inspired such as spiced apple and cinnamon or pumpkin spice – my personal favorite. It could enable your house to smell amazing – and very inviting.
Autumn jobs
Of course, there are a few things that you might need to think about when it comes to the season change. The leaves fall off the trees which may mean you need to consider a leaf removal service for the garden. You might want to clear the gutters and pack up the garden furniture in light of winter around the corner. It can also be a great time to declutter your home and start thinking about the festive Christmas season.
Getting out for country walks
The weather may be getting a little colder and the air may feel a little fresher, yet this shouldn’t stop you putting on your coat, scarf and hat and heading out for country walks. The countryside is simply beautiful at this time of year. All of the colors of the fallen leaves feel crunchy and crisp under your feet. If you have a dog, it is a great time to enjoy the outdoors and be a little more active. You may feel like it is more of a chore to do this, but it can certainly help you keep up with an active lifestyle.
And finally, autumn means we are one step closer to Christmas and let’s be honest, most of us need a little festive cheer after the year we have had. Let’s hope this gets you excited for autumn.
