Isaiah 61:1-4 (NIV)The Year of the Lord’s Favor
61 The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me,
because the Lord has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim freedom for the captives
and release from darkness for the prisoners,
2 to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor
and the day of vengeance of our God,
to comfort all who mourn,
3 and provide for those who grieve in Zion—
to bestow on them a crown of beauty
instead of ashes,
the oil of joy
instead of mourning,
and a garment of praise
instead of a spirit of despair.
They will be called oaks of righteousness,
a planting of the Lord
for the display of his splendor.
4 They will rebuild the ancient ruins
and restore the places long devastated;
they will renew the ruined cities
that have been devastated for generations.
Ezekiel 28:17-19 (NIV)
17 Your heart became proud
on account of your beauty,
and you corrupted your wisdom
because of your splendor.
So I threw you to the earth;
I made a spectacle of you before kings.
18 By your many sins and dishonest trade
you have desecrated your sanctuaries.
So I made a fire come out from you,
and it consumed you,
and I reduced you to ashes on the ground
in the sight of all who were watching.
19 All the nations who knew you
are appalled at you;
you have come to a horrible end
and will be no more.’”
James 1:10-12 (NIV)
10 But the rich should take pride in their humiliation—since they will pass away like a wild flower. 11 For the sun rises with scorching heat and withers the plant; its blossom falls and its beauty is destroyed. In the same way, the rich will fade away even while they go about their business.
12 Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.
1 Peter 3:3-5 (NIV)
3 Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. 4 Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight. 5 For this is the way the holy women of the past who put their hope in God used to adorn themselves.
Thank You, O LORD! For the beauty OF THE LORD! I heard You tell me to get my beauty back; my self-pity and self-indulgence is neither attractive on me or to You. O LORD!
May I:
Gaze upon YOUR Beauty, O LORD.
Honor You, O LORD, with my beauty—
Your Word says You see it.
O LORD, that Your Word does not return void and accomplishes what You sent it to do
See Your beauty, God;
You shine forth
Your land stretches afar
Not lust after fleeting beauty
Receive Your crown of beauty instead of ashes
Not become proud or corrupted in my heart
Not be destroyed, but persevere under trial
Have an unfading beauty
of a gentle and quiet spirit,
which is of great worth in God’s sight.
Put my hope in you, O God
and be adorned
to Your honor and glory.
In Jesus name. Amen
Do you see your beauty?
Do you see that God says you are beautiful in His sight?
Do you believe HIS WORD about your beauty?
Do you want to get your beauty back?
Do you know see to get it back? Or do you need a helping hand?
